Forgetmenot Pond, Alberta

Today when I opened my Twitter I was excited to see that the barricade on Highway 66 was opened! IMG_7269

Last year my mom and I discovered this gem that we had heard of, but had never been to! I thought since the road to Forgetmenot Pond is now open, for the season, it would be a perfect time to share this beautiful place with you.

There are numerous hikes in this area. The day we went we just wanted a quick trip out to the mountains for some fresh air and to walk my dog, Dexter.

Dexter gave this hike two paws up!

It is quite an easy stroll and took us less than hour to walk the perimeter of the lake. The walk is mainly flat and not too strenuous.

I would recommend this hike if you want great mountain and water views, especially if you do not have time to drive all the way to Banff.

Click here for the location of the pond. I cannot wait to go back this summer for a picnic and maybe explore other trails in the area!
